Your MKI leather jacket is made from 100% lamb or cow leather, lined in polyester. Leather is a natural material that needs specialist care rather than a regular wash — the wrong treatment can crack, dry out or permanently mark the surface. These six steps will help your jacket keep its finish and shape for years to come.

  • Never wash or dry clean

This jacket should never go in the washing machine, be hand washed, or sent to a regular dry cleaner. Water, detergent and standard dry cleaning solvents can all damage the leather.

  • Use a leather specialist only

If the jacket needs cleaning, take it to a specialist leather cleaner. They have the right tools and products to clean it safely.

  • Keep it away from bleach

Bleach will damage and discolour the leather surface.

  • Never tumble dry

Heat from a tumble dryer will dry out, shrink and crack the leather.

  • Never iron

Direct heat from an iron can scorch or permanently mark the leather — avoid it altogether.

  • Store it away from heat and damp

Hang the jacket on a padded hanger in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and radiators, to help it keep its shape and finish.
